Training of Trainers for CSOs and Partners in Government Conducting Voters’ Education in BARMM

Activate Bangsamoro III – Training of Trainers for CSOs and Partners in Government Conducting Voters’ Education in BARMM conducted last November 15-17, 2023 at Davao City
The recently concluded Training of Trainers on Voters’ Education, facilitated by the MOSEP in collaboration with various Civil Society Organization partners under the Activate Bangsamoro Project III and with the support of The Asia Foundation and the UK government, marks a significant milestone. This training aimed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary for effective community outreach in preparation for the upcoming first regular BARMM Parliamentary Election.
As part of this initiative, UVPN actively engaged in the training to enhance enlightenment and empowerment. The organization, gearing up for a parliamentary outreach and community muhadarah in the Island Provinces of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), will also play a crucial role in distributing Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials about Voters’ Education and the Bangsamoro Electoral Code during these activities.
During the 2-day Training of Trainers, stakeholders, including Commission on Elections (COMELEC) and LENTE, contributed to enriching discussions. Ms. Sittie Fariza Esmail provided insights into UVPN’s activity plans, timeline, and best practices, showcasing the organization’s commitment to effective community engagement. Strategies for improvement and best practices were also discussed as part of the planning process. This collaborative effort aims to ensure that participants are well-prepared and equipped to conduct impactful Voters’ Education initiatives in BARMM, contributing to a more informed and engaged electorate in the region.
Activate Bangsamoro is a project implemented by The Asia Foundation in partnership with the UK government.
